ONE SPA

Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh

As well as a wide array of treatments, this impressive retreat has a rooftop hydrotherapy pool, infinity swimming pool, thermal suite, bio sauna and numerous other areas dedicated to your total relaxation. If you also stay at the hotel, you’ll get a preferential rate for Escape At One, which means access to spa facilities for up to three hours (without booking any treatments). Booking in advance is recommended.

Massage: £80 for a 55-minute Essential Body Massage. 

Spa day package: £215 for a 3-hour Ultimate Spa Ritual, with treatments recommended by a dedicated therapist.

KOHLER WATERS SPA

Old Course Hotel, St Andrews

This is the first Kohler spa experience outside the USA and offers a choice of therapeutic water treatments, plus deep relaxation and thermal suite facilities. The 20-metre swimming pool has a waterfall (yes, really) and you can also enjoy the rooftop spa garden and lounge. Treatments include Kohler bathing, designed to improve sleep and general wellbeing, alongside hydrotherapy, massage, facials and more.

Massage: £94 for a 50-minute Custom Massage, designed to ‘meet the wellness needs of your body’. 

Spa day package: £125 for an About Time experience, including a facial or massage, lunch, canapes, champagne and a 25% discount on other treatments (Sunday to Friday, or £155 on Saturdays).

THE SPA

Blythswood Square Hotel, Glasgow

Located in the heart of the busy city of Glasgow, this award-winning spa uses natural and organic Scottish plants and ingredients in many of its treatments; and also has a 12-metre vitality pool with massage fountains and swimming jets. Other facilities include a dark vitality pool, hydrotherapy spa pool, crystal steam room and ice fountain.

Massage: £87 for a Prana Vitality Full Body Massage. 

Spa day package: £140 for a Blythswood Spa Taster, including any 55-minute facial, a 25-minute back, neck and shoulder massage, full use of thermal experience facilities and a gift bag (£155 on Fridays and Saturdays).

STOBO CASTLE HEALTH SPA

Stobo Castle, Peeblesshire

As the name suggests, this spa is set in a 200-year-old castle in the Scottish Borders, which is a pretty encouraging start. It’s also Scotland’s only destination spa and just 30 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh. The 25-metre infinity pool is ozone-treated and has glass walls to enjoy lovely views, while outside you’ll find three hot tubs for the ultimate appreciation of your surroundings.

Massage: £82 for a Darphin Deep Rebalancing Full Body Massage. 

Spa day package: £99 for a Relaxing Spa Day, including a facial, mini-massages, a three-course lunch and access to all facilities.

NORTON HOUSE HOTEL & SPA

Handpicked Hotels, Edinburgh

The country-house setting of this luxury spa is immediately relaxing, with a pleasing contrast between the original grey-stone hotel building and contemporary separate spa facilities. There are eight treatment rooms, a Rasul mud chamber and plenty of areas to relax between treatments – or you might opt for a swim in the 18-metre pool. 

Massage: £68+ for a 55-minute Elemis Deep Tissue Muscle Massage. 

Spa day package: £215 for an Escape Spa Day, including a full body scrub, full body massage, luxury manicure, luxury facial and two-course spa lunch.
